“This warm, affectionate, perceptive film makes looking harder look easy.”—Robbie Collin, The Telegraph UK

The puckish British artist David Hockney broke into the international art scene in the 1960s taking London, New York, and, ultimately, Los Angeles by storm. Hockney is a definitive look into the creative and personal life of one of the most celebrated artists of his generation. Explored through his personal archive of photos and home movies, the result is an intimate and compelling diary of his life.

At age 78, the charismatic and cheeky Hockney continues to work in his studio seven days a week and continues to fight the labels that were put upon him (“queer,” “working class,” “figurative artist”). He remains as effervescent, funny, and noteworthy as ever. 2014, U.K., DCP, 113 minutes.
