“Fierce and unexpectedly romantic.”—Joshua Rothkopf, Time Out

“Vital.  A fist-pumping, crowd pleasing doc.”—Kate Erbland, IndieWire

At the age of 84, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has developed a breathtaking legal legacy while becoming an unexpected pop culture icon often dubbed the “Notorious RBG.” This definitive Ginsburg biography reveals the unique personal journey of this diminutive, quiet warrior's rise to the nation's highest court that has been largely unknown, even to some of her biggest fans–until now.

RBG is a poignant documentary exploring Ginsburg's exceptional life and career from co-directors Betsy West and Julie Cohen capturing the judge’s personal and professional troubles and triumphs. This compelling film captures her formidable legal skills to fight for justice for women—a fight she has continued through five decades.

The film reflects on decades of landmark cases and decisions that had a wide impact.  Footage from her 1993 Supreme Court confirmation hearing and recordings of her arguments are woven with present-day interviews, highlighting her ground-breaking work with the ACLU Women’s Right Project and experience on the U.S. Court of Appeals.

With incredible wit, Justice Ginsburg also allows us into her personal life and her deep love and admiration for her husband Marty who is her biggest advocate.  A selection of the 2018 Sundance Film Festival.  2018, U.S., DCP, 97 minutes.
