The 2022 Sundance Film Festival Short Film Tour is a 95-minute theatrical program of 7 short films curated from the 2022 Sundance Film Festival short film program, including three titles that won Festival awards. Considered the premier showcase for short films and the launchpad for many now-prominent independent filmmakers, Sundance includes fiction, documentary, and animation from around the world.

Throughout its almost 40 years of history, Sundance has always supported short films, providing a platform for both established and new filmmakers to connect with audiences. The 2022 Short Film Tour program is a sampling of Sundance’s offerings and a testament to the unique storytelling potential that the format holds. Audiences can enjoy a mix of fiction, documentary, and animated shorts that are funny, sad, inspirational, and full of strong characters. 2022, U.S./France/Indonesia/Lebanon, In English and various languages with English subtitles, 95 minutes.

A Syrian migrant working as a crane operator in Beirut volunteers to cover a shift on one of the most dangerous cranes, where he can find his freedom. 2022, France/Lebanon, in Arabic with English subtitles, 15 minutes.

Directed by Shariffa Ali

Audrey, a New York City comedian who can make a joke of any situation, faces a staggering challenge in the beautiful mountains of Oregon. 2022, U.S., 13 minutes.

 

Stranger Than Rotterdam with Sara Driver

Directed by Lewie Kloster and Noah Kloster

In 1982, the completion of Jim Jarmusch’s sophomore film, Stranger Than Paradise, hinged on producer Sara Driver’s willingness and ability to smuggle one of the world’s rare stand most controversial films across the Atlantic Ocean. 2021, U.S., 9 minutes. If I Go Will They Miss Me

Directed by Walter Thompson-Hernández

Lil’ Ant is obsessed with Pegasus, the Greek mythological character, since first learning about him at school in Watts, California. He notices imaginary airplane people around his home and yearns to fly with them. 2022, U.S., 13 minutes. Winner of the Short Film Jury Award: U.S. Fiction.

A socially inept woman rents one a male surrogate to prepare for an anticipated first date with a man she’s met online. 2022, U.S., 15 minutes.

 

Goodbye Jerome! (Au revoir Jérôme!)

Directed by Gabrielle Selnet, Adam Sillard, and Chloé Farr

Having just arrived in paradise, Jerome sets out to find his wife Maryline. During his search, he sinks into a surreal and colorful world in which no one seems to be able to help him in this animated film. 2022, France, in French with English subtitles, 8 minutes.
