This documentary is an essential narrative of firsthand accounts of the coronavirus, and a revelatory examination of how propaganda and patriotism shaped the outbreak’s course–both in China and in the US. 2021, US, in English and Mandarin with English subtitles, 95 minutes. The opening night festivities include a ticket to the screening, a Rabbit Hole Bourbon tasting in the Gheens Court, a commemorative portrait by a Rabbit Hole photographer who will e-mail the portraits after the event, and a Rabbit Hole and Sundance gift bag at the end of the night.

The Speed Art Museum is partnering with the 2021 Sundance Film Festival to present this selection of 12 films as one of over 30 Satellite Screens.  This wide array of films features social justice documentaries, broad comedies, heartwarming tales, and gripping dramas—each screened for the first time in Louisville. The films will all be premiering online on the Sundance Film Festival’s bespoke channel and in Satellite Screens across the nation on the same day. 

 

The full selection of 2021 Sundance Film Festival’s 72 feature films and 50 shorts is available online for rentals via a Sundance-built online platform January 28 through February 3. The full selection can be accessed here.  

 

At the Speed, we value public safety and great care will be enforced to make sure that audience members are safe. Masks will be required while in the museum and throughout the screenings.  No food or drink will be allowed in either the Grand Hall or the Speed Cinema where the screenings will take place. In accordance with state mandates, the capacity for each space will be capped at 33%. Increased cleaning protocols will be in effect prior to and after each screening. Guests will enter through the museum’s main entrance and seating will be assigned upon arrival.
