Bummer!
Thursday, March 3, 4:30 – 7:30pm

At the start of 2020 our students may have had big plans for the future, but many of those plans were suddenly put on hold. At the workshop we will examine the stories behind Yoruba artworks from Nigeria that symbolize uncertainty and chaos. Then we will create breakable art to symbolize the frustration of being stuck, and discover ways of returning—  one day! –  to the person we hoped to be.

This school year, our professional development workshops focus on ways to help students reflect on their experiences during the global pandemic, with meaningful discussions and art-making activities. Each program in the series deals with a unique emotional experience (isolation, disappointment, loss, etc.) and offers ways to reflect and rebuild in the context of art education.

Teachers will earn three CPE credits for each workshop they attend. For safety, this in-person workshop will be limited to 16 participants.
