The five-day summer art camp is designed for young artists who want to explore creative media beyond what is typically offered in school art classes. Throughout the week, students will be introduced to traditional and contemporary art techniques, including experimental drawing, mixed media, sculptural processes, and painting. Each day features instructor-led demonstrations combined with hands-on practice and studio time, allowing students to experiment, take creative risks, and learn how to blend traditional and nontraditional approaches to express their own creative voices.
Standard Camp (9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.)
This camp is ideal for students who:
Enjoy art and want to try new materials.
Are considering art or design programs in the future.
Want to build confidence and independence in a studio setting.
Are interested in portfolio development or creative exploration
Extended Studio Time (12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.) +$50
For students who want additional creative time, extended studio time is available each afternoon.
During extended studio time, students may:
Continue working on camp projects
Develop portfolio pieces
Experiment independently with the provided materials
This time is lightly structured and supervised, allowing students to work at their own pace in a studio environment.
Final notes for parents
Instead of focusing on perfect final pieces, the camp emphasizes experimentation and creative process, while encouraging students to develop their ideas and learn when to push a piece further or when to let it be finished.
No prior advanced art experience is required, just curiosity and a willingness to experiment.
Don’t forget to pack a lunch if your child is planning to stay for extended studio time; lunch will not be provided.
