ADMISSION ON OWSLEY SUNDAY IS FREE

Thanks to a generous contribution from Brown-Forman, anyone can visit the Speed for free on Sundays through 2024. Select special exhibitions will require an additional ticket purchase. Reservations are strongly encouraged.

Members / Frontline Healthcare Workers: FREE

Adults: $15

Children/Seniors/Students/Military: $1O

HOW TO RESERVE GENERAL ADMISSION TICKETS

General admission to the Speed Art Museum includes access to the permanent collection, select exhibitions and installations, select programming and Art Sparks. 

 

We recommend reserving your tickets in advance online or by calling 502.634.2700 prior to your visit. You may also receive your tickets upon arrival. 

  

NOTES: 

Access to the Museum’s current special exhibition is not included in general admission. Tickets for this special exhibition may be purchased separately online, at the ticket counter, or by calling 502.634.2700. 

Select events, programs and Speed Cinema screenings are not included in general admission and require separate ticketing.

Speed Family

Speed Family: Film + Fun

A monthly Saturday morning for curious kids and their grown-ups
 

Speed Family is a relaxed Saturday morning program for children and the adults who care for them. Each month includes a family-friendly film, thematic and free play in Art Sparks, and hands-on artmaking, with time to explore together at an easy pace. The program is welcoming to strollers, sensory needs, and first-time museum visitors, and is designed to help families build simple, joyful routines around art and creativity. 

Gallery admission is not included. 

Speed Together

Speed Together: Explore + Create

A monthly Sunday of art, creativity, and self-guided discovery 

Speed Together is a pay-what-you-can Sunday program where visitors of all ages can explore the Speed’s collections and galleries at their own pace. Each session offers opportunities for self-guided discovery, light creative activities, and quiet moments to reflect, draw, or experiment with artmaking. Families, friends, and first-time visitors can enjoy a relaxed, flexible experience designed to make the museum welcoming and accessible to everyone. 

Speed Salon

Speed Salon: Talks + Theory 

A quarterly Wednesday for curious minds and cultural conversation  

Speed Salon brings together artists, scholars, filmmakers, and cultural thinkers for engaging talks and conversation. Each session features a presentation followed by Q&A, offering attendees the chance to think deeply, ask questions, and engage with contemporary ideas and creative work. The program is designed for adults, students, and those who enjoy focused discussion in a supportive environment. 

Gallery admission is not included. 

Speed Social

Speed Social: Connect + Sketch 

A monthly evening gathering for adults to unwind and create 

Speed Social is a relaxed evening program for adults to connect, sketch, and socialize. Guests can enjoy music, drinks, and an informal drawing session. No instruction is required—just time to relax, be creative, and enjoy art in a social, welcoming atmosphere. 

Held after museum hours. Gallery admission is not included. 

 

Speed Slow Down

Speed Slow Down: Rest + Restore 

A monthly Sunday for reflection and calm 

Speed Slow Down offers a peaceful Sunday program focused on mindfulness, gentle movement, and restorative experiences. Participants can enjoy guided slow-looking, meditation, yoga, or sound-based activities in a calm, low-stimulation museum setting. The program is designed to provide quiet, restorative space for adults, families, and multigenerational visitors. 

Speed Legacy

Speed Legacy: Carry + Continue 

A monthly Thursday for adults 55+ to reflect, create, and connect 

Speed Legacy is a daytime program for adults 55+ that combines conversation, storytelling, and simple creative activities. Each session invites participants to reflect, share experiences, and engage with art at their own pace. The focus is on connection, reflection, and community in a calm, welcoming environment.
