“A team that with love, ingenuity, choreography, sublime technique, and a regard for the larger world create one astonishment after another for the delight and delectation of others – much like the genius behind the camera.”—Manohla Dargis, The New York Times

Iconic 93-year-old documentary director is back with his latest film, his 44th, focused on the exacting precision of the staff of the three-star Michelin restaurant Les Troisgros in rural France. This documentary premiered at the Venice Festival before playing the Toronto International Film Festival and the New York Film Festival.

The film is set in Central Frances and Troisgros, which has been owned and operated by the same family for four generations.  The restaurant and hotel have been a destination for global gastronomes for decades and in which a passionate family of head chefs reveal their menu ingredients, textures, colors, and flavors. Wiseman shares the exacting training of the waitstaff, into the produce farms and vineyards, and even into the sprawling cheese cavern in pursuit of the highest level of culinary art.

New York Times Film Critic Manohla Dargis #3 pick of Top 10 Films of 2023. 2023, France, DCP, in French with English subtitles, 240 minutes. Recommended for 16+.
