Directed by Alfonso Cuarón

“It is a rapturous magnum opus that is heartbreaking, devastating, and life-affirming all at once.”—Gary Kramer, Salon.com

The most personal project to date from Academy Award®-winning director and writer Alfonso Cuarón (Gravity, Children of Men, Y Tu Mama Tambien), Roma follows Cleo (Yalitza Aparicio), a young domestic worker for a family in the middle-class neighborhood of Roma in Mexico City. Delivering an artful love letter to the women who raised him, Cuarón draws on his own childhood to create a vivid and emotional portrait of domestic strife and social hierarchy amidst the political turmoil of the 1970s.

Cuarón’s first project since the groundbreaking Gravity in 2013, Roma was shot on 65mm with stunning back and white photography displaying his masterful command of the image. Roma has topped multiple Best Films of 2018 lists and is shortlisted for an Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film.  After its premiere at the Venice Film Festival last fall, it took the top prize. 2018, Mexico, DCP, in Spanish and Mixteco with English subtitles, 135 minutes. Rated R.
