The Speed Art Museum is proud to present Southern Sounds: Women in Contemporary Southern Music, a showcase of female singers and songwriters inspired by the South, on Saturday, July 22, 2017, from 1 to 4pm. Sponsored by the Speed Concert Series and 91.9 WFPK Independent Louisville, this event is presented in conjunction with the Speed exhibition, Southern Accent: Seeking the American South in Contemporary Art. This lively event will highlight six outstanding musicians, who together demonstrate a range of Southern influences including rock, folk, country, gospel, soul, and blues.
